Kevin Sinfield’s 2025 Challenge – 7 in 7 Together
Kevin Sinfield has announced his next big challenge. Called the 7 in 7 Together, the challenge will again feature a phenomenal run, and aims to raise money for a multitude of MND charities, including MNDA, MND Scotland, Irish MND and the My Name’s Doddie foundation.
7 in 7 Together will see Kevin Sinfield run seven ultra marathons in seven days across seven regions. Moving all over the UK, this new challenge gives supporters up and down the country an opportunity to meet, cheer and run with their hero Kevin Sinfield. Each daily challenge will include an extra mile, where the community are invited to join the event and run alongside Kevin.
Including the Running Home for Christmas, 7in7, Extra Mile – Kevin Sinfield has raised over £10million for charities. This will be Kevin’s sixth challenge, with a stronger focus on fan participation and regional support. All mapping of the runs as well as an overhead flyover will be published which supporters can use to find their places to best watch the run. Kevin’s aim will be to raise £777,777 to be split between MND Associations. Donations are already open and available through the Leeds Rhino’s website.
Romero and the Rhino, Over the Years
Romero insurance and Kevin Sinfield have a long and storied history. We have supported Kevin at every step of his challenges over the past few years. Kevin has had a strong impact on Romero team members. At the Rob Burrow marathon, many of the Romero Group and Club Insure team ran or spectated in Leeds. Kevin equally also supported our team on our Pinder 200 challenge, providing welcome encouragement and guidance.
As well as many informal chats, we’ve also had the privileged of formally interviewing Kevin multiple times. On behalf of Club Insure, we discussed the importance of managing change, stepping up and becoming a leader, and how comprehensive support leads to success – exploring the comparisons between leading a rugby team and delivering insurance for clients. When does the 7 in 7 together start?
On Monday 1st December, Kevin and the team will set off from Bury St Edmunds heading to Ipswich Town stadium, Portman Road. Each day will be broken down into 7km blocks that Sinfield must complete inside the hour, before setting off on the next leg on the hour.
On 2nd December, Kevin will arrive in Cork in the Republic of Ireland. Then on 3rd December, Kevin heads to Wales for a circuit of Swansea.
4th December will see Kevin return to Yorkshire and take on a challenging ultra marathon among the hills of Sheffield – finishing at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN) where groundbreaking research is being done to find treatment and hopefully ultimately a cure for MND.
On 5th December Kevin will be in Cumbria, expecting a warm reception from Rugby League fans. The 6th December will take place in Scotland, starting at golf course Carnoustie and travelling to Dundee.
And finally Kevin will return to Leeds culminating the 7 challenges at Headingley Rugby Stadium. This will the first time Kevin has ran in Leeds since Rob Burrow’s passing in 2024.
What is the Leeds Santa Dash?
As part of Kevin’s final challenge this year, the run in Leeds on Sunday 7th December will include the inaugural Leeds Santa Dash. Before completing Sunday’s Extra Mile event at Headingley stadium, supporters can sign up to join a 3km run heading off from Leeds Beckett University. This is open to friends, families and participants of all ages, who are encouraged to be festively dressed. Entrants each receive a Santa suit with their ticket and will receive festive finisher items upon completion.
Kevin will join the Santa Dash run, while sporting his fashionable Santa running top! He will begin the event at 2pm, allowing supporters to run alongside their hero. Enter the Leeds Santa Dash on RunForAll – whether you want to run, jog, walk or wheel, show your support.
