We’re the UK’s Best Independent Broker… again!

A record breaker

As a positive end to a turbulent year, we're exceptionally proud to be bringing home the Independent Broker of the Year Gold award from the 2020 Insurance Times Awards.

It’s been a long and difficult year. For our teams, our clients, and industries up and down the UK.

So it was with great excitement that we welcomed last week’s win at the Insurance Times awards. For the second year in a row, we have been crowned as the UK’s Best Independent Broker at arguably the most important awards ceremony in the industry. This victory was made even more sweet in the knowledge that our sister companies, Club Insure & NDML achieved gold in the Customer Champion category for their hard work in supporting an entire industry through the pandemic.

We were thrilled to hear the judges comments recognising our independence in a marketplace flooded with brokers selling out and leaning on external investment – something that we will never do. They commented:

“Standing out as a truly independent broker, Romero clearly understand that investing in employee happiness results in better customer retention, and they demonstrated a deeper understanding of looking after their own people.”

We’ve long believed that caring for our customer and delivering exceptional service is at the heart of a good broker. And that this can only be achieved by investing in people. Which is exactly what we’ve done. From upskilling, to taking care of employee wellbeing, to investing in a 25 strong in-house claims department.

In short, our independence gives us the flexibility to be agile, and adapt to our clients needs, whatever they may be. You can read more about why it’s so important to work with an independent broker in our article here.

Finally, we’d like to dedicate this award to two important people we sadly lost this year. Our treasured friends and colleagues Jon Land & Lloyd Pinder both sadly passed away this year. They were both huge personalities who had worked alongside us for many years, and they’ll be sorely missed by everyone across the Romero Group.

This is for them.
